What are the Pro's and Con's on home Solar Panels?

Pro: you feel Green because you are not using oil.

Con: you are losing money because nobody tells you that in 20 years you'll be replacing them with the fees for discharging toxic waste on top of the price for buy the new ones.

Yep, it's a fraud. But hey, it's legally Green.

Pro's include reduced power bills, easy maintenance, and improved rate of return over most other investments.

Con's include the upfront costs, the annoying people blathering about them, the potential issues with HOA type rules, and having to wash them off occasionally.

Pros: Free energy (once you have the equipment).

Cons: Expensive, large capital outlay. You need grid or battery backup for when it's cloudy or nighttime. You need a good southern exposure and preferably live in lower latitudes.
