I have Photoshop CS5.1 and I shoot digital photography with Canon's RAW format.?
When I try to save some (and only some) of my files as either tiff or jpeg it will only save it as "file" which is window's default for "I don't know what this is." Either way it's unusuable. Any tips?

I'm using a Canon 50D. I'm using Windows 7 with all the updates. The thing that gets me is that it only happens to some of the files and not all of them (and I'm doing the same thing to all of them). I can open them all up so I'm assuming the file isn't corrupted or I wouldn't be able to view them at all.

Are you naming the file with the proper file extension?
example: myphoto.jpg or myphoto.tif
