I would go with the ps4. With the xbox you do get more of a home entertainment system than the ps4. However given that you are likely only going tobe using it for games most of the extra xbox one features will be pointless. Also the playstation brand has over the years had better backing on exclusives games and thats likely to be the case again. So pretty much ps4 is the best option and cheaper.

PS4
Reasons why;
Sony is more successful than Microsoft. E.g. music record label, phone devices, music devices, headphones all different products
Microsoft only have computers, email service, and Xbox.
Playstation 4 or Xbox one?
PS4 they've never failed me one bit. Every Playstation system I've had from 1-3 have been the best. I'm not saying I'm biased because I've tried Xbox and well I don't like it.
So....
PS4 :D

Personally, I think you should get a PS4. If you grew up on PS games like I did it'll be great to have another one of their systems. Plus they have remakes of old games. Like OddWorld for PS1 and PS2 now has a remake on PS4. I believe Jak and Daxter has games for it as well, along with Sly Cooper. But that's just my opinion.
