In love with "straight" friend. Would you keep doing this?

My friend (a guy) says he's straight. I'm a guy and bi, and very much in love with him. He knows this. He is the best friend in the world, and we talk for hours on the phone.

When we're hanging out, he'll let me lean on him, rest my head on his shoulder, touch his arm, reach out and stroke his hand for a short bit, etc. I've noticed a few times he actually put a little cologne on and popped some gum in his mouth before we say bye from hanging out ... and we hug each other cheek to cheek and he holds me like that for like 30 seconds. I have kissed his cheek multiple times as we hug, and even his neck a few times. I also whisper I love you in his ear when we're hugging. We sometimes kid about getting a house together in the woods and how we should decorate it and stuff.

So, here's the question. I am head-over-heels in love with him and want him so bad. And, while he'll let me get this close, and maybe someday he'll let me get even closer, if he doesn't, then I know I'll forever be frustrated. And if he is straight for real and meets somebody or starts hooking up with other people, it's going to crush me inside beyond belief. What would you do? Would you continue being as close as you could be to someone you've fallen in love with so much, or would you try to make a clean break and get over him?

He's the best friend I've ever had, but I don't think I can just get over the feelings if I continue having him as a big part of my life.

Helppppppp

Just because he tells people he's straight and dates girls does not mean he is! to me, it sounds like he likes you. I would not try to get over him and break off the friendship. Look at the good that came out of this situation instead of the bad. Even if it does end badly or with you heartbroken, I'm sure you will eventually appreciate the experience. I am a bisexual girl and have fallen so deeply with my close friends so I can relate I recently told her I'm bisexual and she was very supportive but I don't have the nerve to tell her I like her. It is painful that I will only probably be a friend to her, but it is what it is... I really doubt this helped because i'm new to being open about my sexuality and probably much younger than you, but I really hope I helped! I hope you guys are together someday and you have all of the happiness in the world:)

Most straight males would not let their male friends kiss them on the neck under any circumstances.

I don't know the answers to your questions, but I do know that.

Reach down and wrap your hand around his crotch and beg him to blow him. At least you'll get something out of it.
