Why do parents seem different to teenagers?
Why do parents seem annoying to teenagers? And why are they always embarrased by things their parents do? I'm a 14 year old girl and it seems to me like my parents annoy me by the little things they do that I used to let slide, that bug me a lot now. Is this common, and will it go away once I'm older?

i'm 14 too, i think this is because middle school and high school are pretty tough. That's where most of bullying occur. and you would be made fun of if your parents did something or said something embarrassing. when you are younger you don't really care or notice, as you get older it starts to bother you. and i think you have a reason to why the little things bug you, maybe you should ask yourself why.

It has nothing to do with the parents, but its teenagers are the ones who are changing. I mean its obvious. Teens are growing, bodies are pumping hormones like crazy, developing who they are, and many other things. Parents are trying to help teens through this cause they have been a teenager, but since teenagers think they know EVERYTHING parents are the enemy. They are all high and mighty and their sh!t don't stink.

It's actually fairly common because you're developing a more independent identity from your parents. I'm told it goes away very fast once you have children of your own.

Because your parents have gained the knowledge of what teenagers go through and has already lived through it, and they try to teach you to avoid certain problems they have faced.
