Verifying my account with Paypal - they need to have a direct debit set up on my bank account?? Is this wise?
Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up Paypal to take payments from customers buying my book through my Weebly website.
I'm looking at the verifying account part - paypal are asking to set up a direct debit from my account. I'm guessing this will give paypal unlimited access to the money in my bank account - is this correct?
Paypal will be able to take any money out of my bank account if they wish to?
I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with this if that is the case...is there another way?
Thank

I consider it safe--I've had the link set up for 10 years without a problem.
Paypal only debits the bank account if you initiate a payment that requires it.
Any other way? No.

I use a prepaid debit card from Payoneer to verified my PayPal account. Its much safer and gives you more control.
