My renewed passport hasn't arrived, what can I do?

Exactly three weeks ago, I used the check and send service and the post office said it would take 2-3 weeks to arrive.

I called up the passport office today and they said its still being processed and I explained the fact I'm going abroad on Sunday and then I think they said they would put forward an urgent request for me.

What can I do? No unhelpful answers please, I know I should have sent off the application earlier than this.

I'm so worried :(

First off, you don't say which country you are from since processing times vary from country to country. generally it takes 4-6 weeks for regular processing times. You can try to call them again or you can try to get your local congressman to help on your behalf. Other than that, there really isn't much you can do to get your passport faster. I know that is not what you want to hear, but it is the truth. If not, then you would have to change the dates you are traveling. Unfortunately the post office gave you really bad information. They should have expedited your application at that point instead of doing the routine service.

I would contact the patent office again, I think that you can pick it up in person
