Do I have a virus on my laptop?
I have a HP envy laptop with windows 8 and I prefer to use desktop. For some reason when I woke up this morning and tried to go onto desktop, it wouldn't load and keeps flickering my other applications seem to work fine unless they need to use desktop. Please help!
PS if I have a virus can you please tell me how to get rid of it! Thanks

Try running System Restore first. Windows Update might have loaded an update or driver that is buggy. It happens from time to time. Rule this out first before doing virus scan (Malwarebytes is a good start) ad if tat is clean then refresh your PC. Files will be kept but programs will be lost. Just backup critical files and documents to be safe. From my experiences Windoes 8 can be a loose cannon if it wants to.

It may be a virus so the best thing to do if you still have a usable copy of windows 8 disc then re-install it but first backup your files

I think the best way is to refresh you pc without affecting any file. only installed apps will be removed
