is it possible to do repairs on a 2003 BMW 325ci by myself?

So I was thinking about buying a 2003 Bmw 325ci with 105k miles on it. It is manual and a mechanic already checked it out and gave it the green light. Now if a problem were to come up in the future, do you think its possible for me to repair it myself. Keep in mind that I have always repaired my own cars. I went from a 2000 Lincoln town car to a 2000 Jeep grand cherokee laredo and both had there fair share of problems but I was able to watch some youtube videos and fix them myself. I heard that bmw's need special tools to fix and my dad has a huge tool box (one of those you would find at a mechanic shop) and he has alot of tools because he used to be a mechanic. So considering all this, do you think it would be possible to repair and maintain a Bmw by myself or with my dad?

Lots of luck. BMW is the single most expensive car in the world to maintain. Even the batteries have to come from Germany. I had one when I had my own company and could write it off as a company car. When I retired I got rid of it. Every part has to come from the dealer and the prices are ridiculous. They're nice cars to drive but not very reliable.

What should I look for specifically? And if there is something wrong with it would it be possible for me to fix it myself or would I have to take it to a bmw dealer?

Before you buy it, check the muffler bearings- BMW has had a lot of trouble with these in the past.
