What did she mean by "may be"?

Update:

Well, i really like a girl but she is away for vacation. I was texting her n she just asked whats up.. So i replied back by saying, just trying to get your attention but i guess am failing at it... So she just replied "haha... Maybe." What did she mean by this. Btw she likes me as well and not as a "friend".

    An odd response but I wouldn't think too far into it

    She might have just said maybe to add something to the 'haha'

    Might be bashful or nervous :P
