How many Indian batsmen in this series got out chasing balls so wide that they should have been left? Or playing stupidly-aggressive shots when circumstances called for a forward defensive. How many batsmen automatically angle their bat towards leg or off when to present a full face would at least give some margin for error?
This Test series saw one-day batting at its worst.
Of course, India are not the only team to have this problem, but they do seem to have the most extreme form. I wonder if any of them actually care about proper cricket any more.

It is on the way for sure. Even senior players have fallen prey to the IPL, as their shot making is totally T-20 style, even in Tests. They don't care about their place in the team, as long as IPL is there to ply their trade.
I am thinking of future teams, they'll finish Tests in 2 days, from utter failures in 3 days now.
Perhaps BCCI will pull the plug on 5 Tests series, making it 2 Tests series overseas, where they are expected to win an odd Test & then play 10 ODI's & 5 T-20 matches, to come back to IPL & Champions Trophy cricket, the main money spinners for both players & BCCI, who cares about Tests.
Technique is already going out of the window, future Indian players will stay away from Tests, by the look of things to come. IPL is going to murder Indian cricket brutally.

It is generally called test cricket is the mother cricket of all version of cricket. If you practice more and more very much shorten version it may hamper over longer version. I’m not for the quote “the IPL killed test cricket in India” but I think it hampers to play patience cricket.

At last Indian fans are admitting what the rest of the cricketing world could see right from the beginning. The only ones ignoring it are the money hungry owners of the teams & those running it.Yes it has ruined test cricket in India.

I agree with TJ.The Indian Premier League(IPL) is commencing on the complete annihilation of the traditional way of playing cricket. The IPL is a massive attraction for players globally because of the immense amount of match fees they give the players.
Nowadays people are much more interested in fast formats of sports.Nobody to bothers to linger and wait for a boundary. They neglect the complex skill and prowess cricket requires. The pinnacle of cricket is at a risk of extinction and it is the duty of the ICC to stop it from happening.

yes, IPL changes the Attention of the cricket from T20 format. Now all BCCI and Players are more focussing towards T20 . And no one think about the test cricket future.
