Are you able to solve a system of equations without graphing?

If so then how?

Thanks for your time :)

    To solve

    x+y = 8

    x-y = 2

add the two equations together and get

2x=10, so x=5. Plug that into either equation and get y=3.

This idea can be generalized to n linear equations in n unknowns.

Then it is called Gaussian elimination.

There are three major methods of solving simultaneous equations that are usually taught in algebra courses:

substitution, elimination, and matrix methods (including Gaussian elimination).

The search engines can find all three. None of them require graphing.
