How do you increase ride popularity in RCT3?

Is this in general or for a certain scenario/career? - If it's a career one make sure the ride is suitable for the target people (e.g if everyone has a high excitement level, building a ferris wheel is a total waste)

Are people just walking past? - if so, figure out why. Are people hungry/thirsty/lack of money/toilet - if so, provide the necessary facilities. Or are they saying the ride is too expensive (drop the price down, get people on it and then play around with price when people are actually riding it - I do that with toilets when short of money - close them for ages, then charge 50p. People complain but need it so they pay. Then when the mad rush is over, drop the charge down to 20p and more people flood in)

You may be able to (ride depending) close it, delete a section of track, replace track, reopen. To guests it's like a new ride and so will go on it again

The rides will have a starting popularity and reliability rating - and it will change throughout the game.

There are also cheats that supposedly make guests happier, ride all rides, pay more for rides etc - . http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/941405-rollercoaster-ty... - personally I only use John D Rockefeller, Frontier, Isambard Kingdom Brunel) - the other name cheats don't seem to work for me
