Hi! asked in Computers & InternetSoftware · 7 years ago

How to get rid of really loud background audio?

First off, I'm using Premiere Pro/Audition. In my footage Ive got a really bad hum that is louder that the conversation in the clip.

I tried DeHummer and DeNoiser in Premiere, It couldn't get all the background noise out, so I took it to Audition.

There, I tried Noise reduction, which worked! However the voices were distorted and it sounded like a computer. I also tried adaptive noise reduction and that helped a little bit, but not enough.

Do you have any suggestions? Or does it seem hopeless to you?

If you have background humming that bad, it sounds like it is probably clipping into the frequency where vocals are. I normally would suggest a dedicated audio software like Audacity, but since you are using Audition (which is the same if not better) and still having bad luck, I think that you are just going to have to live with it.

Try to use the equalizer to enhance vocals, or take a look at this article for further info: http://www.adobe.com/inspire/2014/01/sound-auditio...
