Advice on the Eminem Rihanna Monster Tour Detroit stop please?
I'm going to be driving 8 hours to Detroit for the Ssturday show at Comerica Park. Just looking for some useful tips. I've never been to Detroit and I've never been to a concert this big. How early should I get there? Will there be pre concert activities like at the Pasadena stop- I haven't been able to find anything on this. Will traffic be bad or should it be okay since the ballpark area is probably used to large amounts of visitors? I'll be staying at a hotel about 15 miles away so using a cab is impractical. Anything else i should know would be appreciated. Thanks.
Rose- I'm staying at the Sheraton near Detroit Metro Airport.

Ok. The Sheraton at Detroit Metro is about 20 miles from Comerica Park. You will drive I-94 all the way down the interstate through Detroit until you see the signs for Downtown Detroit. I would do a dry run if you can because the traffic on Woodward Avenue during events is busy, busy busy! But there are always cops directing traffic and you will see signs everywhere directing you there. If you get there like pre-concert, there is a lot to do right there directly on Woodward Ave. I think they organized it that way so that out of towners would not be lost. You will see the YOU TUBE I posted here for you to get familiar with how it looks and it will help you. Any questions, you can ask Detroiters. Anybody will help you. It is not like New York where people will rob you if you are an out of towner. The people in Detroit are very friendly. It is just some of the more residential ghettoish neighborhoods have that drug crime thing going on..so and you don't want to go to the neighborhoods much. Just keep to the downtown business district and the restaurant district and you will be fine. You will see so many friendly people there. If you can park your car, (might be kinda pricy) Don't forget to ride the Detroit People Mover all the way around and you can see an overview of everything. It only costs fifty cents. Get on it at either near the Greektown Casino, which is walking distance from Comerica Park, or ask a cop to direct you to the nearest one. Sounds like a good party time. Have fun and be safe! Any questions I can tell you more if you like. Oh, and here is the You Tube for Downtown Detroit : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmDiQxMdHmw
