Whenever my neighbor runs a faucet or washing machine I can hear the same rushing noises you would hear as if it was in my own house. When I’m close to the incoming line I can even hear the sounds of a washing machine churning away. I assume this is due to the sound vibrating down the line to the shared main and back up my line. But since it’s not something I recall hearing in outer houses, I want to make sure, is that normal? Home background-1950s(same with neighborhood), copper pipes, in Cedar Rapids, IA.

The lower switch powers two lights on either side of my vanity. The upper switch powers the bathroom exhaust fan but ONLY if the lower switch for the lights is also turned on. Ideally, I would like to put in a triple gang box where I have a standard switch for the lights, a second switch with timer for the exhaust fan, and a GFCI outlet. I would no longer want the exhaust fan to require the lights to be on. Is this feasible given the existing wiring and can you help me understand which existing wires would go where on the new switches? I will update the question quickly if you need additional details.

The left switch powers a porch light. The right switch powers my kitchen lights. The middle for some reason powers my entire garage including lights and garage door opener. The wiring is a little confusing to look at. I want to remove that middle switch but I’m not sure which wires will need connected in order to provide constant power to the garage. I'm going to be driving 8 hours to Detroit for the Ssturday show at Comerica Park. Just looking for some useful tips. I've never been to Detroit and I've never been to a concert this big. How early should I get there? Will there be pre concert activities like at the Pasadena stop- I haven't been able to find anything on this. Will traffic be bad or should it be okay since the ballpark area is probably used to large amounts of visitors? I'll be staying at a hotel about 15 miles away so using a cab is impractical. Anything else i should know would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here's my situation. I would like to buy a house within the next 1-2 years and want to do everything I can to get my credit score as high as possible by then. These are my credit accounts:

Wells Fargo Platinum Credit Card(auto-upgraded last year from the college card)- had it for 3.5 years since the day I turned 18. $6500 limit. I use it for everyday purchases and pay in full every month usually around $1000.

Auto Loan- Had it for one year, already paid half off. Remaining balance about $6500.

Student Loan- $10,000. Going to be entering repayment in 3 months at $86 a month.

When I opened the auto loan they told me my FICO score was around 710 I believe and currently Credit Karma gives me a score of 729. One of the things that I notice is although it's a low factor, # of credit accounts being 3 is considered very low and a negative impact on scoring according to credit karma. So, I'm considering opening a second credit card so as to raise that number of accounts. Seems the earlier I add another account in life the better since age of credit accounts is also a factor. Considering I am going for a home loan in the next year or 2 should I open a second card now or forget it?

I have an LG 47LN5400 I purchased last year. As much as 2-3 times per hour a prompt on the screen indicates that I've plugged something into the component input(which I don't use at all) and asks if I'd like to switch to that input. I've looked through the menus but can't find anything. Is there any way to turn off this feature?

I'm so irritated after all my effort I still haven't seen one slime! I dug down to just 1 above where you can see bedrock(y=5) and I've cleared out a 3 tall room that's 57x57. That's enough for potentially 16, 20, or 25 different chunks represented. Its also well lit to avoid other undesireables. Statistically even with only 1 in 10 chunks producing slimes, I should have found at least 1 or 2 by now! Am I doing it wrong? And I've heard they'll spawn on all difficulties but do they spawn more on the higher ones?

My mother had a defective mitral valve since birth and had 4 pig valve replacements up until age 32. At this point, in 2002, she had a metal mechanical valve replacement. At the time the doctor said it will last about 20 years. Now when I look them up I see people saying they will last a lifetime. Was the 20 year quote only because they weren't sure at the time with the reletively new technology or is that an improvement over the last 10 years?

So I've always loved playing Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and just bought RCT3 Platinum from amazon. What are the biggest changes I'm going to see? I know it's a lot different but what are the biggest things to learn or know or be excited about while im waiting for it to download and install?

I reserved a ticket from On Camera Audience for The Price is Right on March 13th.The time says 830am. My ticket is a priority ticket. Does that mean I'm guaranteed to get into the taping? If so, that means I don't have to arrive extra early, right? Also, it says taping takes 4-5 hours. Is that from 830am?

My essay is titled "Steve Jobs is Alive" Could I use an exclamation point in the title for emphasis or is punctuation completely taboo?

Btw, I do not believe Steve Jobs is alive. RIP. what a great guy. My essay is a basic persuasive essay in which we are to argue something outrageous such as a celebrity death hoax.

So I've really liked this girl a lot I work with for over a year. She knows but I don't think she realizes that the extent I really feel for her is beyond lust. I don't want to scare her so what should I get her? She hates flowers. Be creative. Serious answers only please.

I have this new hoodie this is white and several shades of grey. The white sections are getting very dingy. How should I wash it in order to restore the white parts and not affect the greys?

Last spring I completed the Disney College Internship Program (paid) and they took $85/ week out of my paycheck for rent. I am filing online and just wasn't sure if I can add that to college expenses. I don't exactly have documentation readily available as you could only see that on my pay stubs which I can't access online anymore since I'm no longer employed by Walt Disney World.

I work at a fast food restaurant and lately when I use hand sanitizer the backs of my hands have been stinging and burning really bad. It continues to sting for 10-15 minutes. The cold winter weather has made my hands get a little dry, is that why? Or is there some other reason it could be?

This round trip will be my first time flying since I was much younger. My first one is 40 minutes in Denver and I have to get from one end to the other of the very long terminal B, United to Express jet. I understand that 40 minutes is w/o taxiing. So is this long enough to make my way to the new gate, assuming the flight is on time?

On my return flight I have to get from Terminal C to B at Houston Intercontinental Airport, it's Continental to Express Jet. From their map I've gathered they have some sort of In Security transportation between terminals but this time I only have 35 minutes. Again, will this be enough time?

I called Orbitz to see if this was long enough and when they called Continental they assured us that the flights were connecting flights which I assume means I'm guaranteed to make it or else they'll have to find me the next available flight. Still I was just wondering what those with personal experience say, because even the Orbitz guy said that was cutting it short.
