Information about Acid reflux?

For months, I've been suffering with Acid reflux.

But recently it's gotten to the point of having it all day every day and also I have been experiencing chest tightness and difficulty swallowing and keeping food down. I've been to the hospital many times regarding this and he never seems to find an answer. Well thins morning I woke up choking on my own vomit. Because acid reflux often makes you spit up. I am very scared.. is it possible for acid reflux to cause all of these symotoms?

I also have health anxiety (Hypochondriac) But the pain I am feeling feels way to real to be in my head..

Well, Acid Reflux can cause a lot of problems, I (like you) used to wake out of a sound sleep choking on the acid coming back up and that is scary s***. Made

me nervous also.Yes, it is possible for it to cause these and more. Why hasn't

your doctor treated it yet? There are several good medications out there that will control it and I make sure I take mine everyday so I have no problems now.

You need to go in and just tell him you need medication for this because it is causing you a lot of problems. Previcid and several more, Omeprazole is what I use and it is great for me at 40 mg dose a day. It is an older drug and shouldn't be expensive. It is causing you problems you shouldn't have to deal with, so tell

him that it is time for some medication to control it. You can also put a brick under each side of the bed at the top so it is in a way to help keep the acid from coming back up. The answer above is a bit itsy about anxiety. If you get the Reflux under control, you won't have anxiety!!!!!!!!!! Blessings.

There are a few things you can do to help. Diet is the best, it takes some trial and error, but finding foods that are triggers for you will help immensely. Cut those out of your diet and you should feel better (caffeine and acidic foods are usually the worst ones). Otherwise, don't eat a few hours before going to bed and don't sleep laying entirely flat. Elevate your head and shoulders. A few of my coworkers have found putting the head of their bed on bricks has helped.

My wife has GERD. She has made a hospital visit due to a severe attack that looked like a heart attack. She has had a couple more severe attacks, but didn't go to the hospital. Her gastroenterologist put her on Nexium with some dietary adjustments, which did little to impact her symptoms. She also has no gallbladder.

A dietary change from low fat grains based diet to a low carb moderate fats diet avoiding sugars and restricting starchy food choices has helped to keep her off the meds (except for a rare occasion).

The dietary strategy was developed from information and links to nutrition experts found on the biggest health blog in Scandinavia: http://www.dietdoctor.com/lchf. We are just amazed by the results, and feel compelled to share with you.

  • My mother had severe GERD and severe LPR due to insufficient stomach acid (high acid is rarely the cause of acid reflux). She is free of both conditions taking betaine HCL with pepsin supplements and digestive enzyme supplements. The acid blocking drug nexium caused serious life threatening health conditions. You can use a number of methods to get rid of anxiety without using any medication. The root cause of anxiety is your depressing and negative THOUGHTS. Yes, your own thoughts, these may be conscious or subconscious thoughts. In the latter case, you may not even aware of the things that are making your anxious. Whatever the stimulus may be, the bottom line is that you have to get rid of these negative thoughts.

Some of the most effective methods to reduce anxiety are:

    A. Meditation is one of the most powerful methods to reduce anxiety and the best part is that its quite easy to learn. All you need is just 10 minutes of meditation daily to calm your mind and get rid of the negative thoughts.

    B. Self Hypnosis: Self hypnosis is essentially an art that you should properly learn before implementing it. You can buy some books on self hypnosis, and you can easily learn self hypnosis procedures.

    C. Repeating Positive Affirmations: This is a highly effective method if done correctly and at the right time: The best time for Repeating Positive Affirmations is at night just before you go to sleep. Repeat positive affirmations for 7 to 8 minutes to achieve life changing results.

    D. Figure out the root cause of your anxiety: For instance; when I was younger, I used to be scared of the dark, and then I learned that, some time ago, somebody had mistakenly locked me in a dark basement when I was a small kid. As I learned about this root cause, my phobia immediately went away.
