Why does the GOP not attack farm subsidies, its by far the biggest socialized program in american government?

Because for the GOP (and to be fair, the Dems play the same game), political expediency trumps ideology.
The "base" of Republican support has basically become rural America. (look at a map of Red and Blue states, and even county maps within states). Farm subsidies are popular among that constituency. They did attack the farm bill viciously this year, but really because of nutrition programs (which actually make up 80% of the farm bills cost, and are perceived as going to urban poor). There was also some opposition (from both sides) to some actual farm subsidy programs, and overall they were reduced somewhat, and several programs eliminated.
In general, the GOP has more-or-less supported things like subsidies, tax credits, and giveaways to businesses, and typically opposed the same for individuals, especially for those who are lower income. This may or may not be the right philosophy, but I would like to see examples where this is not the case.
Politicians on both sides typically support what plays well with their base, rather than what might be consistent with their stated principles. (I guess if we want to look at it in another way, this could mean they are representing the interests of their constituents, which is their job I guess, but it's not always what's best for the country).
Ultimately most people vote and support (what they perceive at least) is in their own best interests. Politicians respond, and bring home the bacon.
The issue of whether farm subsidies make good national policy, is, in my opinion, a better question. I have a couple of thoughts. One is that in the big picture of what the federal government spends money on, they're not very big. Take SNAP out of the farm bill and its cost drops significantly. (farm subsidies are hardly the "biggest socialized program in American government"). Two is that a stable and solvent food supply and agricultural economy is important to our society for many reasons. Farm subsidies are very complex. There is plenty there to be critical of. I think there are also some benefits that come out of them. Certainly to farmers, and to our nation as well. My opinion is to reform, rather than eliminate them, and the 2014 farm bill does some of that, although critics argue it does not go far enough.

The GOP has it rough because we don't understand the facts. Farmers are paid to not farm in the United States and our food comes from outside the country now. Shopping at Trader Joes at least we get meats that are not shot up with hormones that make us FAT. Our foods from China, Mexico and Central America are with pestisides and hormones, I'm surprised you didn't know all this stuff, this is why we have food stamp programs, to make us buy from the stores that give us the poisons that keep us sick and take life from us as rapid as they can. It's controlling the masses, bare basics, too many folks on the earth, we are dropping dead quicker than ever now.

Because farmers have a powerful lobby and because foodstamps are the lion's share of the farm program.

Democrats label them because it is directly connected with the Food Stamp program. So if you try to cut it Liberals scream you hate the poor.
