What is the policy with no proof of income for rentals in Florida?

Update:

Would they want the lease paid in full up front or do they accept less? Please answer if you are a landlord, work for a rental, or have experience with this. Thank you.

mbrcatz how would they not get paid? If you read the question, I said I would pay the full lease up front if needed, so no risk. I was asking if they usually accept any less or if the full lease was required.

Update 3:

Being a real estate agent is not illegal. I have sporadic checks and don't come on a regular basis. I just sold my home and don't have sufficient income to get a mortgage so most likely not enough to qualify for a rental. I have assets and a business plan, but not much proof of income. Why wouldn't they rent to me if I work as an agent and have cash to cover the lease?

    If you are willing to pay the full annual rent up front, why would proof of income be a problem? Does someone have an illegal job or not report their income to the state???

    If you cannot provide proof of income, something shady is going on. If you have a large inheritance, then say that up front. However, since you didn't, its safe to assume that you are either not reporting your income to anyone AND/OR are doing something illegal. Hey, I get it, you might have a cash job and you don't report it or pay taxes...well, that is against the law and landlord don't like people who break laws.

    I would be more than happy to retract my statements if I am incorrect, just explain the situation and we can help you further.

    It's up to the landlord, but why would they want to rent a unit to someone with no income? It's highly unlikely that the rent wouldn't get paid, and the eviction process is both expensive and can take a while.

    The policy is up to the landlord. They might require several months' rent in advance.
