How to motivate myself to keep playing volleyball?

I just got on the varsity team as a freshman (high school). I've only been playing since seventh grade. I'm a setter. I really enjoy playing but the varsity coach is very tough, he makes us do a lot of conditioning and expects a lot from me as a setter. He almost didn't let me on the team because I wasn't being as "coachable" as I should've been. (Any tips on being more coachable??) Anyway I want to keep playing and get better but sometimes its hard to motivate myself to go to practice for hours, work hard and give it my all. Please give any tips you have (also about playing on varsity in high school). Finally if you have any advice on being a setter or how to be a better setter, please say that too! Thank you

    Some thoughts..

    1. As a setter, your coach should expect a lot from you. You have to be the hardest worker on the team and always try to better the pass.

    2. As for being coachable, make sure you make eye contact with your coach when he is trying to tell you something. Nod your head don't roll your eyes. Also, ask questions when you have them. This will let your coach know you are engaged.

    3. For motivation, you can only find this deep down. Maybe make a list of reasons you play and look back at this list from time to time. For example, I would write that I play for my teammates and I play because I love the competition. You could also write some long term and short term goals down both for yourself and your team so you are always striving to get better.

    4. To be a better setter, ask your teammates for feedback about your sets and ask them where they like the sets. Be a leader and be vocal; you have to take charge. Also, try to build a decent relationship with your coach so you two are on the same page with who your go-to players are and who to set in certain situations. Good luck. :)

Varsity as a freshman? That's great. Just think, 4 years from now, you could get a full ride scholarship for volleyball, but that's only possible through improvement. Play all 4 years and it'll get easier and better. You'll be happy you did
