How to build a search engine for my website?
A local small business owner asked if I could build him a website for his used car business. I agreed. He's happy with the design, but asked if I could add a search engine where visitors can select CAR MAKES, MODEL, YEAR, etc.
Unfortunately I don't know how to do that since, I"m not familiar with coding. I use WIX.com to create my sites.
How can I add this type of search engine? I don't think WIX has a 3rd party application for this.
He wants something like this:

You probably need more than a traditional site content search engines, rather there should be a full fledged server side database, using mySql on most free hosts, a data table would be filled in for each car, so a variety of range searches like 3 - 7 years old, $15,00 to $25,000 price.
Your client might be best starting out with a pre-designed site template, like one of these which seem to be mostly generic ecommerce sites templates that don't provide sophisticated enough data.

There would still be plenty of customization and data input work for you, ideally you would find one with a build in database and search scheme.
If wix poses any limitations there are countless $8/mo paid shared server hosts that would to restrict server side scripts.
You can find Clone Scripts of most major sites that supposedly provide a working copy of it, they may be buggy and don't have the hundreds of man hours of coding that the major sites have.
Try a search for: edmunds clone script
I saw no useful results (except an auto trader script) but you will see some freelance programmer projects put up for bid, you may have to get that database and search functionality created by an experienced dataase programmer, sites like elance.com, vworker.com or guru.com should have coders that can do the job.
