I support the right of everyone to wear head coverings if they want to (not just Muslim women) - but I do support concessions that allow head coverings to be worn in situations where no one else would be allowed to keep their head covered.

For example, head coverings are not allowed to be worn in banks for security reasons, and there should be no exception to this rule for Muslim women. Similarly I do not think that people working as teachers, police officers, or many other public positions should be allowed to keep their faces covered.

Sometimes choosing one right means that you have to give up another right - choose to cover your head completely and you give up the right to enter banks or work in those type of job IMO.

Yes, provided everyone else have the same right to wear head coverings. For example, if Muslim women are allowed to wear head coverings in class, in public schools, then Pastafarians should be allowed to wear pirate hats in class, otherwise it's discrimination.

The question should be if people support it. People shouldn't be forced to support anything they don't want to. What people should be doing is NOT questioning someone else's beliefs and ways of life. If people don't know a thing about the Muslim religion then they have no right to talk especially in America which I can easily judge as being fat, uneducated, and hypocritical. But since I'm not judgmental I know not every American makes up that stereotype.

I am a Muslim and as a Muslim I was given a choice of whether I wanted a head covering. I was not forced I made my own decisions, my sister however feels comfortable so she wears it. You don't have to wear it if you don't want to.

Yes but only if they want to, it should never be forced on someone. people need to respect others. It is an option anyway a Muslim girl does not have too wear a head covering anyway and anyone who tries to force one too is an A**hole.

A right? That is insane. Here I am in Salzburg for a few days and I have never seen so many walking tents (totally black from head to foot, barely the eyes showing. OK, this is more than a stupid headscarf but slavery in case just like in the other. It has zero to do with religion.

No one (but Muslim women) should even have a say in this because it just doesn't concern them at all. All women should be allowed to dress however they want, period.

Just as i have the right to have my head uncovered.

I think everyone can wear head coverings, and if a police officer asks you to show your face, you are legally obliged to remove it.
