Does completing the medic AIT for the army national guard give you the certifications to become a civilian paramedic while between drills and deployments?

Let me guess, your recruiter told you that you could be a paramedic when you finish AIT? That's what mine and many others say. YOu will finish AIT with an NREMT-B certification good for driving ambulances as a transporter and doing very little of what you learn in the Army. The Army will not send you to Paramedic school unless you're a flight medic in a National Guard unit.

EMT-B is certification in Basic Life Support. It's the 2nd rung of the certification ladder. Nationally Registered Paramedic is the top rung of the certification ladder and will take several years to complete.

every state does things differently when it comes to accepting military training in lieu of certification, at best you could be an EMT-B no way are you going to get paramedic without additional civilian training.

It depends on the department. Some may honor it, some may not!
