Are there any practicing Christians left in Europe?
It seems that everywhere in the continent, with the exception of recent immigrants, Europeans have largely abandoned practicing Christianity. Are there any places in the countryside, or in certain regions of Europe where this has not happened, yet.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoIs Sinhala a Sanskrit derived language?
1 AnswerLanguages6 years agoWhat is so off putting about Christianity to Europeans?
Europe was the bastion of Christianity for over a thousand years. Yet within the last century it has become the hotbed of atheism, fatalism, nihilism, materialism, and decadence. In the process Europe has apparently abondoned God, marriage, children, and societal self respect.
Now Allah has crept in to this area. There are many Europeans converting to Islam in response to what they view as a morally bankrupt culture. Why can't they just go back to Christianity (Roman Catholicism preferably) in protest of this decadence?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoDoes anyone else find the Anastasia from the 1997 film attractive?
I just watched this movie the other day and I feel this princess has all the others beat. I can't repeat some of the things id like to do with her.
In reality, she was shot and murdered along with the rest of her family, but that wasn't the case in the movie.
2 AnswersMovies7 years agoWhat is a good way to mature very quickly?
I'm a 22 year old male, about to graduate from college after having commuted from my parents house to the state university for four years. I never got to live on campus, never got to join a fraternity, never got to party, had a girlfriend, or maintained any social relationship which will last after college.
I really feel that I missed out on a lot of crucial development points others got in college and am looking for a substitute for them once I enter the job market and (eventually) move into my own place.
Any ideas?
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)7 years agoIs India a brother continent to Europe?
The similarities and parallels are astounding. Both with their shared origins, Civilizational challenges, and relations with other regions.
Both places emerged as Civilizational powerhouses when Aryan tribes migrated to them. Both places (with the exception of the Dravidian Language groups in South India and Hungarian, Finnish, Basque, and Turkish in Europe) speak Aryan languages.
The Roman Empire was the contemporary of the Gupta Empire. Both places endured an Arab invasion in the 8th century. Both places endured Turkic invasions beginning in 1000AD.
India's Sanskrit language and Buddhist religion has left an indelible and long lasting mark on East Asia. Much how the English language and communism (communism like Buddhism is a creation of its founder criticizing the wealth and power inequalities in his homeland) has come to in the 20th and 21st centuries.
Anyway, random thoughts. What do you all think?
4 AnswersHistory7 years agoWhy was there and why does there continue to be a bad relationship between India and the United States?
It seems that since their independence and partition, India has not enjoyed very amicable relations with the United States. Nehru's visit to the US was considered a failed gesture, Nixon and Indra Ghandi didn't like each other. The Krishna Menon statesman was not very well thought of by American foreign policy makers. India was instrumental in the non aligned movement during the Cold War, to the dismay of the US. The country even purchased weapons from the Soviet Union.
Granted, the United States and india have never been drawn into open conflict, but the relations are bad. Why have these two nations not gotten along? Was the US viewed as a 2nd Anglo-Saxon empire of sorts? Was it because the US tried to be Pakistan's friend?
4 AnswersHistory7 years agoIs there a difference between what men and women think is attractive in a woman?
Im a male that works at a sports club. One day when I noticed one of the female patrons who appeared to be an anorexic. When I turned to one of my female coworkers, and asked if she thought the lady had an eating disorder, she said no and added the lady looked good.
I asked a male coworker and he said he agreed with me, the lady looked sick (sick in a bad way).
Is there a perceptive difference in such a thing?

I know the man was an adamant secularist, that many felt he appeared Pakistan and India's Muslim community, and there are a lot of nasty comments about the man on a YouTube documentary concerning him. Why is he remembered in such a way?

5 AnswersMilitary7 years agoIs this personal add too offensive?
The add would read as follows:
Non Jewish male seeking loud, bossy, and opinionated Jewish female. Expects said woman to tell others (especially me) what to do, when to do it, and what to think about when doing it. Cooking and housework not required.
Additional requirements: bossy mother that frequently calls and expects us to come and spend every Saturday doing borderline abusive tasks around her house. (Grandmothers and aunts may substitute on a case by case basis)
Preferred if she has another close female friend that does not care for my company and frequently talks of how lacking of a romantic partner I am, both financially and socially. Must also be a loud bossy jewish female.
Any opinions? Would this work?
2 AnswersSingles & Dating7 years agoLGTBQ communities and the Islamic world?
Does the LGTBQ community take offense that in most islamic countries homosexual activity is considered a crime, and in some cases, punishable by death? Why is there no direct confrontation of this religion that propagates hate against their lifestyle by the LGTBQ community?
The homosexual community tries to cast itself in a similar light to the civil rights struggle taken on by African Americans in the 50s and 60s. It was successful. During the 1970's and 1980's American Blacks began to confront South Africa for maintaining a similar form of segregation to which had existed in the us.
Why doesn't the gay community do something similar for people with similar sexual tendencies to their own who reside in the Islamic world? Why don't they go picket outside of Saudi funded mosques right here in the United States, to demand gay lifestyles be tolerated in the cradle of Islam? Why don't they protest outside of embassies of Islamic countries who kill people for being gay? Why doesn't the gay community stand up to this bully? Are they afraid?
1 AnswerLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender7 years agoIs it wrong to pray for God to kill someone?
There is this one person who is a thorn on humanity's side. He's not a world leader or powerful person but rather an asshole with whom *someone* had the misfortune of attending high school. *Someone* will not waste your time with the semantics of what it is he's done but answer the question: is it wrong to ask God to waste someone or not.
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoAre there any cheap ways to fly to Europe from the East Coast of US?
I'm trying to go to Spain and I can't get anything less than 900$ for a round trip. This would require me to take a bus to Newark Airport in New Jersey from Virginia. Is there something that I've missed.

11 AnswersPolitics7 years agoTaking out a personal add as a non Jewish man seeking a Jewish woman?
I have gotten tired of having to think for myself and make my own decisions over the past 23 year. I'm looking to change that.
The add would read as follows:
