Is there a difference between what men and women think is attractive in a woman?

Im a male that works at a sports club. One day when I noticed one of the female patrons who appeared to be an anorexic. When I turned to one of my female coworkers, and asked if she thought the lady had an eating disorder, she said no and added the lady looked good.

I asked a male coworker and he said he agreed with me, the lady looked sick (sick in a bad way).

Is there a perceptive difference in such a thing?

I think there is a huge disconnect between what is a healthy weight for women and what is seen by some as a healthy weight. The media thinks - the thinner the better and a lot of women follow this idea - likely some men too. However, a healthy woman needs some body fat even to just menstruate - if a woman is so underweight she is not menstruating, this is nature's way of saying she is not healthy enough to survive a pregnancy. I do not know why some think this is healthy. Sometimes surgical breast implants give the impression there is some body fat when there isn't.

    Physically speaking:

As far as faces go, probably not much.

I know plenty of zaftig women who are very comfortable with their sex appeal. However, overall shape does matter - folds and rolls of fat are not attractive to many in either gender. Men care less about fat thighs than women do. Nevertheless it's nice if a woman has a waist. As for nails, most men don't even notice nails.

How fashionable a woman is is a matter of class.

The only men promoting the anorexic look are the gay men who run the fashion industry.

    Ok, Now I see that this is about weight or body type;

There are so many things that women do to "look beautiful" that I usually don't even notice nails just about never and when I notice they are just, a trait I guess, unless it is something really radical hairstyle and coloring too, in fact most of the time I prefer pony tails. make up I can sort of see but not every day and certainly not all the time.

Now I will admit to preferring a women on the thinner/athletic side and admit that she can very easily get too thin, but i have never met anyone who was to my knowledge.

A lot of women tend to fall for all the media hype surrounding the way you look (magazines, films etc always show tall, slim women for example). They feel that the thinner they are or the bigger breasts they have, the better looking to the opposite sex they will be. Men tend not to have the same hang ups or unrealistic ideals when it comes to the way they or others look.

If I, as a short, fat, middle aged biker can still pull the fellas, I guess there's hope for everyone...lol

Women in general are heavily influenced by the media. That said, the only women in the media I see who genuinely resemble a bag of bones are the models at fashion shows. The others just look normal to me.

But then as a natural UK size 6 (US size 2), I could be biased.

The only thing I noticed is alot of women think men want skinny girls, and lots of girls with a decent amount of meat (not fat) think they have to lose weight so they are all bones, and think men find it attractive

Usually men find curves and some meat the most attractive, and wide hips. Not skinny.

Yes. I think young women these days are ruled by fashion so they think very skinny is the way to go. But men don't feel the same way.

Most females think whatever the media & advertising companies say is supposed to look good, looks good. Usually the opposite is true.

Yep, women often think that we men like deathly thing, no, we like women with a bit of meat on their bones.
