Creationist, why do you believe in intelligent design over evolution?

There is just so much evidence for evolution while there is no good evidence (that I am aware of) for creationism. What evidence are you aware of for it? If there isn't any, why do you believe it?

Update:

I think most of you are not understanding my question fully. I am not asking you to try to disprove evolution. I am asking you to propose your evidence for creationism.

The Pope, Catholic Church, Church of England and mainstream churches all accept the big bang and evolution!

Lord Carey the former Archbishop of Canterbury put it rather well – “Creationism is the fruit of a fundamentalist approach to scripture, ignoring scholarship and critical learning, and confusing different understandings of truth”!

Nice that Christians and atheists can agree and laugh together even if it is at fundie expense!

But behind the laughter is the despair at the fundamentalists striving so hard to destroy Christianity by turning it from a religion to an ideology!

Evolution isn't the whole story. Certainly we can see similarities between organisms that seem to follow a progressively complex anatomy, but this could be evidence of either random or planned actions. DNA is a master code, and it argues strongly for a master. What appears to be random may not be random at all. Some biological systems are so complex, that there is no obvious benefit from having the unlikely set of preexisting conditions that would make a small change in DNA capable of a major evolutionary leap. The timing seems off as well. Although millions of years may seem like a long time, for evolutionary advancement, it isn't long enuogh. During the Cambrian period, thousands of new life forms appeared almost overnight, without any obvious explanation for the sheer speed of development.

  • The proof for intelligent design is all around you, but many prefer to attribute that design to the creation (everything evolved itself, or created itself) rather than the Creator.

If I told you that your watch evolved, you'd laugh. Yet the universe is infinitely more intricate than a watch, and the relative laws of the universe much more reliable.

Your simple unreliable watch had a designer. Why would you dismiss the idea that the earth & everything on it has a designer? Isn't it narrow minded to at least look into that possibility?

One of the main reasons I believe in Creation besides looking at life (on earth & our universe etc) is from studying the Bible. When you look into it with an unbiased attitude, it proves itself to you that it must have come from a higher source. The prophecies written in there have come true in accurate detail hundreds of years after they were written by average men. They are not vague

I researched evolution but found only theory, no actual proof.

From what I've seen, I have to agree with Timothy Wallace: “A major reason why evolutionist arguments can sound so persuasive is because they often combine assertive dogma with intimidating, dismissive ridicule towards anyone who dares to disagree with them. Evolutionists wrongly believe that their views are validated by persuasive presentations invoking scientific terminology and allusions to a presumed monopoly of scientific knowledge and understanding on their part. But they haven’t come close to demonstrating evolutionism to be more than an ever-changing theory with a highly questionable and unscientific basis. The situation isn’t helped by poor science education generally. Even advanced college biology students often understand little more than the dogma of evolutionary theory, and few have the time (or the guts) to question its scientific validity” (Five Major Evolutionist Misconceptions About Evolution).

Because the fact is man is not the fittest for survival!

The root of the argument hinges on this concept, that each new specie was better fit for survival and this was a driving force of evolution. But each step was a digression from being most fit for survival if one subjectively looks at the results.

Take the very simple observation- a rock can not die and out survives any living organism!

The basic premise is wrong and that proves the theory wrong! Nature desires equilibrium and life violates the primary rule of nature.

-Debating creationists on the topic of evolution is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon — it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory.-Scott D. Weitzenhoffer

"Many believers admit that nothing could change their mind about their religious beliefs, which means they are no longer seekers of truth and have become, in essence, mindless religious robots. Religion consistently and effectively discourages introspection and inquiry. That isn't by accident."-- Bob Peters

“If someone doesn’t value evidence, what evidence are you going to provide that proves they should value evidence.

If someone doesn’t value logic, what logical argument would you invoke to prove they should value logic?”

Creationist, why do you believe in intelligent design over evolution?

I think you already know the answer.

The science deniers deny scientific facts because they're uneducated god-soaked morons.

For evidence just look at the other answers: stupid childish idiots.

Everything you show is dead. Creation is everywhere.

Easy to google. Even destruction is high level, eg. Flies? How does the fly Know you're heading for it?

Millions of flies, hundreds of eyes! in each one.

So many!! examples. The diseased plant? (Human?)

    sends out signals for miles!!

Well there is so much we don't know about the universe. Looking at nature and its beauty I can't fathom how this is an accident or coincidence.
