Are the Atheists suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect?

Which is a cognitive bias manifesting in unskilled individuals suffering from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than is accurate.

I suspect many do. You don't know how many times I have given a rebuttal to an atheist comment and the reply is something like "i has an IQ over 180 and 5 phds in sciences and have worked in science 4 over 20 yeers so i no what i am talking a bout."

Atheists do not suffer from the DK effect. Atheists don't believe God exists - that is all there is to it.

Why is something so very simple so hard for theists to understand?

The people that should be concerned about cognitive bias are those that believe in a 2000-year old book of fairy tales and think its flawed "history" and inaccurate "science" are reliable.

Naahhh... I just don't believe in god things.

And I'm not too stupid - I scored 12 out of 13 on the test below.

Of course my two younger brothers didn't feel bad telling me they scored 13.

One even guessed which one I got wrong ;)

I'm not sure, but don't atheists not believe that 5 billion plus galaxies were put here just for us.

No we "suffer" from a good education. We "suffer" from having parents who did not hammer us with the religious myths of bronze age goat headers. Nor were any of us threatened by a phrase like, "You be a good little girl or Baby Jesus will see you burn in hell". And few of us were ever raped by any priest and then told, "If you tell anyone, no one will believe you. And if you do, Your parents will burn in hell" (See the Frontline piece called "Secrets of the Vatican"...a real shocker, on line at PBS.org/Frontline.)

Given the claptrap that so-called Christians post on here about atheism, logic, evolution, geology and cosmology, the boot is firmly on the other foot.

    Here is an example

I have seen hypocrisy! Know how they demand..proof? Yet, don't they declare with no proof?

    But yes, they appear exhalted.
