Would upgrading from 10.6.8 Snow Leopard to Os x Mavericks make my laptop go from version 10.6.8 to 10.7?

Mavericks is actually version 10.9. You can jump straight from 10.6.8 to 10.9 without any intermediate hurdles. Enjoy!
