Tingling in the back of the heel?

I've noticed this strange tingling feeling in the back of my heel, it started this morning out of nowhere, it was on my left heel and i thought nothing of it, thinking it would go away on it's own. I tried ignoring it, but through out the day i kept feeling it, and it comes and goes. Now it seems to be appearing on my right foot, should i be concerned? i'm 20 years old.

You should wait and see. It could be paresthesia which is a type of nerve damage. Usually the symptoms are tingling, numbness, and burning sensation in locations of the body. You might have injured your heel? But it could also be a sign of other issues like diabetes, and neuropathy. The fact that it's starting to spread to similar parts of the body concerns me. There is a disease called multiple sclerosis. It's an autoimmune disease that causes it to attack the central nervous system of the body which can result in mild or severe nerve damage (you can become disabled). Usually starts in YOUNG adults (you are 20 yrs old which scares me even more). But not too worry. Faster it's diagnosed, the easier the treatment. I would go see a neurologist if things the same or becomes worse. Give it a day or two. But no more.

It's a common psycho-somatic symptom. Lots of little odd things like tingling and pains in various places are a reaction to the internal psychological tension in your body. Their function is to make you concerned - make you think that something terrible is wrong - you have diabetes or bone cancer!

the guy who writes about this is Dr. Sarno - "Divided Mind" - you can get his book off of Amazon. The world is full of problems like intense pain and other ugly symptoms which have no physical basis.
