What happens to an uninsured driver?
I was going through a green light and a car came up turning left and hit me and another car. He was supposed to yield to us but didn't. He doesn't have insurance, so my insurance will have to cover it. Will he just get his license penalized and a fine for not having insurance and that's it!? (one person was injured, but not severely and that was his passenger.)

He'll have a charge or two to deal with in court, and most judges don't accept the "I can't afford insurance but I really really need to drive" defence.
He'll also be sued by your insurance company to recover their loss (it's called subrogation), and he'll have a really tough time defending himself in that court too.
If and when he decides to buy insurance in the future, he'll have an at-fault accident and a conviction for driving without insurance on his record. You can guess what both of those will do to his insurance prices.

Hello, In re: ?
My name is Alban. In my opinion, his or her license will definitely be suspended for a certain period depending on state guidelines. In addition, he will face court fines, etc. However, in my opinion considering their was an injury and keeping in mind the us is the "LAWSUIT NATION" he will definitely be sued by the person injured and your, his or her insurance company. So, since he has a lot on his hands in the legal aspect I think it would be safe to leave this person alone and let the insurance company and courts deal with it do not take it further although he is legally responsible. Trust me if you were in such a predicament you would want the same. Either way your premium would have went up regardless of fault.

If the police investigated, ask the police officer to issue a citation to the other driver. he should not get away scot free.
If your insurance pays your claim, the insurance company can go after the other driver. If they are successful in recovery, you will get your deductible back.

What happens to the other driver is really not your problem. He will have all kinds of financial and legal consequences facing him for his poor choice to drive without insurance coverage.

Huh? Nobody here can possibly know what will happen to this guy. If you really need to know you can try asking either a psychic, the guy himself or the cops.
