What should I look into buying to draw on a screen with pen?
I have a big Apple mac and I have all the creative cloud programs on it. What should I look into buying as a monitor that comes with a pen that I can plug into my computer. I don't want to download adobe programs on the new device. I looked at Cintiq companion and iPad pro, but I think I have to download the programs on there. I just want a monitor that I can keep plugged into my mac just draw on the screen. Does the Ugee Graphic Tablet Monitor require you to download programs on it or can I just plug it in on my mac?
1 AnswerSoftware4 years agoI have a cyst behind my ear it's not too painful, but should I see a doctor to drain it?
Can it go away on it's own? How do I treat it? It's not that big... yet. I just want to do all that I can now to prevent it from getting bigger.
What is a good website to ask a doctor about this.
2 AnswersSkin Conditions5 years agoWhere do people get the idea that porcupines shoot out their quills?
I volunteer at a zoo and someone asked why we don't have a plastic protective sheet over the porcupine exhibit. They were afraid that the porcupine could shoot out it's quills through the fence and hurt people..... And many other people that I've talked to believe this myth. My supervisor said when she was training the new volunteers that people will often believe this myth which comes from cartoons. What cartoons, that have porcupines, show them shooting out their quills like exploding pincushions!? I really would like to know.

1 AnswerOther - Visual Arts5 years agoAdvice for making Christmas Bags for the homeless?
I want to organize my friends to make small gifts for the homeless. We don't have much money, but I want to make something that feels homemade and welcoming (something that you would give a friend). I was thinking of giving socks, mittens, or a hat with homemade treats ( like cookies) and a hand-made card. I just want to give something small that will brighten their day :) Is this good enough or is there something better I can do?
I live around Southern California and it is legal in my area to give food to the homeless. I can put an ingredients list of all the treats that are in there for allergies and dietary restrictions. I researched "blessing bags" and I also read an article ( by Lily Rayne ) that explains the flaws. The article said that it can be condescending to assume that they need hygiene products and that they can just go to a donation center and pick out what they need. So instead I just want to give something that you would give someone else.
Is this a good idea? Or should I not make homemade food and instead use store bought treats or something else?
3 AnswersCommunity Service5 years agohow to passive aggressively tell someone to stop doing something.?
for the last hour the person has been sniffing nonstop in the computer lab as if she has a runny nose that she wont blow. it's basically the only noise being made besides keyboard typing. do I just deal with it? have you ever been in a similar situation. I've had other people sit at a computer next to me and breath really heavily for the longest time as if they came back from a run.
13 AnswersEtiquette6 years agowhat should the title of my proposal be?
Basically: I want to make a children's book, but instead of following the linear procedure or words first then pictures I want to do both simultaneously and see if this works. I need a title for now, but the title with probably change when my project is completed
Here is the first paragraph:
I. Introduction
The purpose of my senior honors project is to explore the creation of a children’s book. I’ll have the choice to either let the writing guide the illustration or let the illustration guide the writing because in many children’s books the writing and the illustration processes are handled separately, usually by two different people. What I hope to get out of this a finished children’s book with a detailed documentation of my process work. This project is important to me for two reasons, for one children’s books spark a child’s imagination. I remember how much I enjoyed children’s books as a kid, so now I want to bring a similar experience to kids today. Another reason is that this is a life goal of mine to create my own children’s book and through this project I can do so with the guidance of a knowledgeable mentor. This is an important project for people in the field of children’s books because it will document the process of creating the words and imagery simultaneously instead of following the common process of creating words first then pictures. It makes me wonder if it can be done and still produce a coherent and consistent book.
1 AnswerBooks & Authors6 years agoDid Dr Seuss illustrate some parts in his book first then illustrate it or did he write the book first then illustrate it?

1 AnswerBooks & Authors6 years agoHow are the US and European imperialism part of the origins of the groups al-Qaeda and ISIS?
Is the US quest for oil a cause of the anti West movement. Didn't the US help to elect officials in the middle east that were compatible with the US. If so who were they and for what country.
Anything helps with learning about the history/root origins of al-Qaeda and ISIS.
Please don't tell me about current events with ISIS or how the CIA caused ISIS, I want to learn about the base origins for anti-West hate.
Please include sources
2 AnswersHistory6 years agoCan you describe for me the set main setting in Frankenstein?
I am illustrating Frankenstein's monster and I need to make a back drop. I need an accurate book description of a popular setting in the book, not the arctic setting. It would be a setting where the monster appears like Victor's lab. Would the typical castle with tombstones and lighting from the movie even be true to the book?

1 AnswerCooking & Recipes6 years agoIs it normal for adults to not know basic animal facts?
like knowing that insects (and a bunch of other invertebrates) are animals too. That turtles and tortoises can't come out of there shells.
I am asking this because I am a regular volunteer and I was volunteering with a group of college students for an event at the zoo and one student thought that another name for a mountain lion was a bobcat and he was telling that to guests. Another student thought that turtles can come out of there shells while tortoises can't.... since they are in college they should know animal facts like these.....
another time a zoo guest (who was an adult) asked where the feet of the snake that I was holding are?
another guest asked if I was holding a frog... it was a lizard
and there have been countless other things adult guests have said.
I am in Southern California and is it normal to not know basic animal knowledge? Or you can answer Should people know basic animal knowledge?
6 AnswersZoology7 years agoWhat happens to an uninsured driver?
I was going through a green light and a car came up turning left and hit me and another car. He was supposed to yield to us but didn't. He doesn't have insurance, so my insurance will have to cover it. Will he just get his license penalized and a fine for not having insurance and that's it!? (one person was injured, but not severely and that was his passenger.)

2 AnswersZoology7 years agoCan I put quotation marks around "I 'Heart' New York"?
For typography I'm writing about American Typewriter, but the problem is that their is no italic option for that font and I don't want to underline it because it would stand out too much. This is my sentence:
Many people masy recognize this font on the "I 'Heart' New York" logo created by Milton Glaser.
So can I use quotation marks around it? (don't worry they are not inch marks on my actual file)
or would that be grammatically incorrect?
I'm working on this in adobe illustrator btw
2 AnswersWords & Wordplay7 years agoFinance lottery question?
Homework problem: You and 11 coworkers win 12million ( or 1million each) from the state lottery. Assuming you each receive your share over 20years and that the state lottery earns a 6% return on its funds, what is the present value of your prize before taxes if you request the "up-front cash" option?
for this answer I got 312,000, is this right? If I'm wrong please give me the correct formula or maybe I was looking at the wrong chart.
1 AnswerPersonal Finance7 years agotips on painting windows?
I'm going to volunteer at the library to paint on the outside windows for each month and I need tips. What kind of paints should I use? how would I take it off? what kind of paint brushes? I would like to try stenciling but I don't want to pay a lot for it, would thin cardboard work if I use and exacto knife? How do I start with painting it? I've never had a window as a canvas so if you have any other tips for me it would help a lot.

7 AnswersPhotography7 years agoI need help with the wacom tablet?
I bought a Wacom tablet a couple of years ago in high school and now I need it again for my typography b class but when I use it it's not using the Wacom board as the whole screen. So for example if I touch I corner and then touch another corner of the Wacom board it should go from one corner of the computer screen to the other but instead it only moves a few inches.
So how do I make the Wacom pen treat the tablet as the computer screen? I know it can be done because it happened in my animation class in high school before and the teacher fixed it, but I forgot how. Help please
