Is it possible to upload or copy a VHS to my computer??

I have a VHS of a concert that is no longer for sale, and was never produced in a DVD format. I want to preserve it before it gets degraded. Is this possible???

    Yes.

    ANALOG

*If you have an analog (VHS) camcorder

    or VHS-c...

You need an analog converter, either internal card or external such as the dazzle. It's very easy to use and come with good software. You would hook your analog VHS camera or VCR to the analog converter, the dazzle and then hook the dazzle to your PC. The dazzle cost around 85.00 , but worth the money if you have a lot of VHS to tapes to convert.

Anytime you convert analog to digital, you will lose quality, but loss of quality is better than losing all those old memories.

**Please Note There is no 8mm or Hi 8 to VHS Adapter that currently exists. This type of VHS Adapter only exists with VHS-C tape

They also make VHS to DVD recorders and they work fine for home movies that you don't want to edit. They do not work on copyrighted DVD's.

Yes, it's possible. You may take a look at this guide, it's about how to capture video from VHS to computer and burn to DVD, it works pretty well for me.

if this is a tape that you bought, it most likely has copy prevention features that will prevent you from making any direct copies. the "Copy Guard" only appears in the video, so it is possible to make an audio copy of just the music. to do that run the audio out from the VCR to the line input of the computer and use an audio recording program like "Audacity" which you can download for free.
