My hair dye is coming out!?

I dyed my hair blue using Manic Panic temporary hair dye. My hair is naturally brown with hints of cocoa-red color. I did not bleach my hair before because I wanted a darker blue and didnt want to strip my hair of its color. I dyed it this morning and let it sit for 1 hour before rinsing it out first with cold water, then with cold water and shampoo then I used a blow dryer to dry my hair. It has been rubbing off on my hands, clothes, and neck. I just washed it again with cold water and shampoo and when i rinsed out the shampoo, the water was bright blue! It has been about 1 hour since I washed my hair and my hair is still wet, but the dye is still kinda coming off onto my hands and stuff. Is there any way I can prevent this and do you know why it might be doing this? Thanks!

I'm 14 and dye my hair a lot. Probably because my daddys a barber. :) but that happened my first time ,. I also did blue. Just take a hot shower the dye will be fine. Its also best you don't shampoo your hair for a few days after coloring your hair. The reason its doing that is because not all the exes dye was rinsed out.

    ...well.

    you used Manic Panic.

Manic Panic is a VERY temporary dye. Unnatural colors period are temporary.

Manic Panic is known for fading quickly, but it's also known for the fact it's considered a veggie dye. The dye is more or less like a paint on your hair, but you can add it to your conditioner to maintain the color.

Maintaining unnatural hair colors...I'd consider that a part-time job.

The dye rinsing out is normal though. It takes a few days for it to stop running.

But you STILL need to redye it and learn how to do proper colored hair care.

you used >>>>> Manic Panic temporary hair dye <<<<<<

please make note of the word TEMPORARY

temporary hair color is supposed to shampoo out (although it might take a few shampooings) & it does tend to rub onto things

if you want something that lasts longer try semi-permanent or permanent

if you want something temporary, then chalk pastels (the kind you buy at an art store that artists use but not the oil pastels) will work better

a set like this one that is chalk pastels would work:

this usually happens with colored dye. use color protecting shampoo and conditioner and make sure you shampoo out all of the dye that you initially applied

This happens with everyone, maybe it'll last for a few times washing, but it'll stop
