What is color of flame inside diesel engine?

Hi...

Me and my friends were having a discussion recently abou the color of the flame inside the cylinder of a diesel combustion engine(engine of a diesel car)

Is it blue or yellow?

I say blue because there is an excessive amount of oxygen in tge cylinder during compression.

Also...you rarely find a layer of solid carbon on the walls of the cylinder.

So I say you have perfect burning of the fuel.

Some of my friends disagree and say the color is yellow.

Which is it.

Thank you

I'll guess mostly blue flame, very briefly (microseconds) yellow as the fresh air is drawn into the cylinder.

The hot temperature associated with a diesel engine flame makes it bright. I would not relate it to any colour.

No flame at all while it is compressed until explode inside the chamber. Just heat and gases .

    I would say it's a red flame.
