What's the best book/series you ever read?

I understand the need for a book series; I need some new ones too, but here's some good one's I've already read. I'm not sure what your preferred genre is,

but anyway...

The Maze Runner (Trilogy)

The Maze Runner series is so amazing and very fast paced, it has plenty of action as well as suspense too. It's also realistic (And by 'realistic' I mean people get hurt and die, its not just happy days and 'we'll make it through with the power of friendship') It's about a 15-year-old boy who arrives in a very strange new place, called 'The Glade.' He has no memories of who he is or how he got there,and only really knows that his name is Tomas. The Maze Runner is also being adapted into a movie which is coming to theatres in late September, I think around the 23rd-ish.

Harry Potter

I know, I know, you've heard of it, I've heard of it, everyone's heard of it. But, some people haven't read it, so if you are one of the those people then the series is a must-read. (but that's probably something you've heard before) Anyway, You are also NEVER to old to read them for the first time, my aunt just finished the series and she's 40-something. Anyway, I don't think I need to say too much about it's topic...

Ripper (Solo book)

Ripper is about the infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper, and a young boy who is assigned the case of strange murders, which suddenly begin again in the U.S. (Jack was originally in Europe, but the book is a 'what-if' scenario of the killings resuming years later in America.) It not only is a mystery series, but is full of crazy gadgets and is just overall a cool book to read, although it has a somewhat unsatisfying ending.

Anyway, I don't want to rant, but those are just a few cool ones. Also: Sherlock Holmes. It's hard to read at first, but if you like detective novels then they are, of course, the best.

The Turn of the Screw, a short novel by Henry James. It's a 19th-century ghost story, so it's not written in that modern screamer/slasher ghost story way. It's more subtle, so even if it involves ghosts, it's not a children's book. First person POV.

Plot: A governess has to look after two children who may or may not be haunted by the ghosts of their previous caretaker and her lover, both of whom died under mysterious circumstances.

Apparently, only the governess can see the ghosts, but she suspects the children are aware of their presence. She confronts them several times about this, but the rather clever children claim innocence. Whether or not they are telling the truth is hard to tell.

Meanwhile, strange things happen, and governess fears that the ghosts are "corrupting" the children. The real mystery is whether the governess is insane or if the ghosts are real.

If you decide to read it, you may have to go over some sentences more than once, as the writing style can get a little heavy sometimes. But it's a really good book and very worth reading. I think a book nerd would love it, since the ending makes you think like crazy and wonder about all the "what ifs".

Read books by Michael Chriton. Mostly sci-fi books, but his writing is the best. I definitely recommend Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Timeline, Andromeda Strain, Terminal Man, The Great Train Robbery, and Congo. Jurassic Park and The Lost World are both 100x better than their Hollywood movie forms.

Timeline: time travel is involved

Train Robbery: dude's genius plot to rob a train.

Andromeda Strain: a town that grows ill after a satellite crashes nearby

Terminal Man: i enjoyed this because the main character has epilepsy and I am a epilepsy survivor.

Congo: when gorrilas attack.

I think the best series hands down would be the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Very interesting read. I haven't yet read the eighth one that just came out in June because I am re-reading all the others first to be ready for the eighth one called Written in My Own Heart's Blood.

I love the Warriors series, but if you're not into that kind of fiction then it's pretty much just a giant disappointment. But you DID ask.

I'm going to go with Harry Potter. It's a super long series but the books are really good, and they keep you interested!
