Give the IUPAC name for the following ketone and aldehyde?
For part (a) I got 2-pentanone
For part (b) I got 1-butal
Can someone spot-check this for me?
I'm not confident that these are correct.

First is correct
For the second you do not call an aldehyde 1- someting as you have done.
The =O group in an aldehyde can only be on a terminal C - therefore it is not necessary to specify this
Answer: butanal.
