Why do most posts on politics seem to be on anything but politics and are only meant to antagonize and are mean spirited?

I think politics is pretty well no mans land, but religion not so much in general conversion anymore, Antagonizing / mean spirited on a discussion site / question site such as this, people can and will say anything from very polite to The F bomb because they know they can't be seen nor found. They can hide behind a computer so they are safe from a punch in the nose. And I think some almost deserve one because of their hateful language.

The definaition of Politics is actually the science of the peoples.

That has all been forgotten, it is all about votes now.

Take the big election going on in Scotland soon, do you really think that is about the people, whiskey and Bannockburn?

Politics and religion are not polite conversation. They bring out the ugliness in ourselves.

Because they know there are enough political crazies on this site who will respond and fight with each other. It's quite entertaining.

In my opinion because they are so overwhelmed with the need to be right that they can't see the forest for the trees so to speak.

It is easier to attack people instead of attacking problems.

I ignore the ones that are degrading people and read the ones that are attacking problems.
