Why would Gouda cheese be 'formal'?

I don't understand the formal-ness of the Wendy's gouda commercials. Why would Gouda cheese be a formal thing??

It really isn't formal at all. It's about as formal as mozzarella cheese. Like Austin said, a lot of things that they say are shams, like their patties are frozen, their buns aren't fresh, etc.

They just say that to make it sound fancy with their commercials of the perfect looking burger and we all no it's a lie just like they say their beef is never frozen all beef is frozen after butchering that's a fact.

    In America, it isn't a pedestrian, run-of-the-mill cheese. It's a bit more exotic. :)
