Old, simple, plain, but strong, handsome boy names?

Me and my husband can't decide on what to name our son, but we know we want him to have just a simple but handsome name. His last name is going to be Hancock, and some names we we're think of we're

Victor(Vic for short)
Henry
Hector
Guy
John

But it be nice to hear some other names, just to see if there's anything we like : )

Well if you're going with "strong" I wouldn't call him Vic for short, it's kind of feminine. Hector and John invoke images of strong men for me (partially because I'm a Classics major and Hector is a Trojan hero). Guy...it definitely fits the simple and plain, I'll give you that. My ranking for your names:

3. Victor

4. Henry

5. Guy

The names David, Paul, Frank, George, Jack, Ralph, Arthur, Albert, Roy, and Wayne also come to mind with that description.
