I need help with an algebra problem?

Update:

The has gauge on your car is broken, but you know the car averages 22 miles per gallon. You fill your 15.5 gallon gas tank and tell your friend, " I can travel 300 miles before I need to fill up the tank again". Why is this true?

    Travel distance = car mileage x gallons = 22 x 15.5 = 341 miles

That's why you can state the car can run for 300 miles before refill
