Did Bush predict the 2014 ISIL Iraq crisis as he warned, in 2007, against pulling troops out of Iraq? (Obama pulled troops out of Iraq)?

"It would mean that we would be risking mass killings on a horrific scale. It would mean we would allow the terrorists to establish a safe haven in Iraq ... It would mean we would be increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous.” - George W. Bush in 2007 warning against pulling troops out of Iraq.

George Bush wasn't the only one to predict a disaster if we pulled all of our troops out of Iraq.

in the 2008 election John McCain was criticized by Hillary Clinton, Obama and the liberal media for making this statement:

"It's not a matter of how long we're in Iraq, it's if we succeed or not," McCain said to CNN's Larry King.

"And both Sen. Obama and Clinton want to set a date for withdrawal -- that means chaos, that means genocide, that means undoing all the success we've achieved and al Qaeda tells the world they defeated the United States of America.

    "I won't let that happen."

No. Bush signed an agreement with Iraq to pull our troops out. Iraq demanded we leave.

Bush screwed up the situation so much that when we left, the hand-picked leader of Iraq was resented by the people. The remainder of the Sunni Military was harassed by the Shiite government. The religious strife was never resolved.

Bush will always own this disaster. If he had any brains he would have listened to his father who warned AGAINST taking out Saddam. He knew it would destabilize the middle east and we would be sucked into it for years.

Daddy Bush was right. Junior was just arrogant and foolish.

Now Obama is the bad guy? Lol Americans with picking sides rather than accepting the situations. The question would be " was it worth killing Saddam Hussein?" He controlled the place. Now imagine what would have happened if ISIL took over Syria with the help of the west powers? The Syrian President has done nothing wrong but fight exteimists. The west should admit that they were wrong to fight and now support him now to oppress the exteimist otherwise middles east have problems. I give credit to Putin for not supporting the Syrian labels he deserve the big credit. He warned that labels can't be trusted or armed and what he said is revealed.

Yes. Bush knew that pulling all troops out too early would just give terrorist a way back in and they would be more of a problem. Obama pulled them out because he refused to get an agreement with the Iraqi government to allow them to stay longer. They left and ISIL arrived.

What's funny is that Al-Qaeda wasn't operating in Iraq before 2003. Halliburton invested heavily in Iraqi oil. They have no-bid contracts.

You should go see with Cheny said about taking out Saddam back in the 90's...he also predicted the middle east being in this type of state.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS, was released from prison in December, 2004, during Bush43’s Reign of Error.

Wasn't he the one who created the law that dictated the date of pull out?

Maybe we should of never trapped ourselves in Iraq in the first place.
