Where do furniture stores get their furniture?

I was thinking about buying and selling furniture, but can't seem to find any cheap enough to make a profit. Where do furniture stores like Rooms to go, or even the liquidator places, get their furniture?

They have to find furniture dirt cheap, right?

Please don't say craigslist because craigslist is awful.

Thanks

Many of the larger ones have fabrication contracts over seas to manufacture their lines; others buy from wholesalers (in The US many are in North Carolina, but their are fabricators all over-it depends on what lines you want to carry). Other fabricators are in Italy or China for example. You will be required to pay up front first, so you must know your market.

Liquidators get there merchandise from standard retailers. Retailers buy from wholesalers. Wholesalers will not sell to individuals.
