What's the loud ticking in my 2004 Range Rover engine?

It a Range Rover Freelander V6, 114.000 miles. with regular servicing ..The ticking stops once the engine is warm and it runs like new. I just don't why or how this happening and what I'll need to do, if anything at this point. Is there a special oil that will correct this?

The sound is probably the lifters before ample oil flow has started. Try a lighter weight oil, like 5W30 and don't use oil additives. The lighter weight will allow oil to shoot up into the engine sooner.

it could also be an exhaust leak
