Can somebody please explain X-Men: DOFP?
Hi there *Potential Spoliers*
I just watched X-Men Days Of Future Past and there is a few things I am confused about, mainly the time travel.
1: Some of the X-men die in the first few minutes of the movie (Collosus etc) however then we see them with Magento and professor-X. The explanation, what I got from it, was that the X-men that died were some what of an illusion? Is that correct?
2: How did Wolverine end up where he did at the end of the movie?
3: Where did Magneto, Professor-X + Kitty go? Were they an illusion again?
4: What year was it where Logan ended up? 1973? did he get sent back in time again, except this time in a new world to warn the others about what is coming?
Sorry for the questions, I hate time travel in movies/Tv Shows because it can get a bit complicated.

1. No, completely wrong. When ProfX and Magento meet them, Shadowcat explains it all. She says how she has been sending Bishop back in time to warn them of a coming attack, so they can get out of there in time. Everyone dies in an attack, but Bishop is sent back, so they exscape before the attack. This was in the film to set up the premise for when Shadowcat sends Wolverine back.
2. Back at the mansion? When the timeline changed, he was sent back to the time he was sent from. His memory returned to his body, but history was different now, so it went to his body doing whatever it was it was doing at the time he left, but in the new timeline.
3. Not an illusion at all. That future was changed, so never happened. The ones we saw were the future as it happened, but because it was changed those versions of the characters were erased from time.
4. Wolverine's mind is sent from the future back in time to 1973 to his body at the time. When the timeline changes, his mind is sent back to his body in the future again.
