Which is a better sound codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a) or A52 Audio (aka AC3) (a52)?

Just trying to figure out what codec to use for my videos.

    MP3 and AAC codecs are standard for DVD movie audio. for a given compression factor, all codecs perform about the same.
