Is it possible to illuminate the dark side of the moon from the earth using a laser beam or something like that?

Update:

It would be great to see the dark side of the moon... and it would be even better to see it while listening to Pink Floyd music :)

Don't you think it would be less stupid than throwing away money with projects like SETI or similar, do you?

A large mirror would work, simply orbit the mirror on the side of the moon away from the sun and point the mirror so the reflected sunlight hits the moon. Of course, there will be some practical complications to be overcome.

But... of course the real question is: why would you want to do this???

possibly from the space station or a satellite in order to avoid atmospheric absorption
