Fluffy cupcake icing?

I got cupcakes from a bakery and they had a VERY light and fluffy icing on top and it WASN'T buttercream.

I was wondering what it is called, if anyone knows what i'm talking about.

They had it in multiple flavors and everything but when i but into it, it was airy like whipped cream, but not like the whipped icing in the store.

Do you think it might be like meringue icing?

I've had grocery store and bakery cakes that had a creamy, fluffy icing then I later found out that they made a regular butter cream and added Cool Whip to it.

    Maybe that's what they did?

Many bakeries buy it. Its called Riches Bettercreme and is a food service product you won't ever be able to buy.

It comes in big buckets, is whipped and then applied to cakes, cupcakes, etc.

It could be just cream but whipped to make an icing solution, or whipped cream cheese.

It could be flavored whipped cream, too.
