We all know that the parents will use those gifts that we give for babies, so I think you should give him a thing that can help his parents to have an easier life in raising him, like a bib, a thermometer or maybe a back seat mirror and a car seat. These things I mentioned are really useful.

A mobile he can look at ffrom his crib when he gets home. Cute receiving blanket with matching hat. Something that plays music-- he can listen to it at the hospital.

you give him a nice blanket with some bottles and maybe a baby thermometer. it will help in the future. :D

an outfit would be great. i just had a baby and i appreciated people who got us clothes, or anything really, toys, diapers, wipes, etc
