The popularized Rapture makes no sense?

I don't believe in this sensationalized scare tactic, but what I read about it makes no sense. In most accounts, believing christians will mysteriously vanish from the earth and be taken up to heaven in the blink of an eye.

Why would their bodies disappear? There is no purpose for their bodies in heaven. When people die, and their 'souls' apparently go to heaven, their bodies don't disappear.

So if the Rapture where to actually happen, it makes more sense that some people would simply drop dead as their souls are taken away. And if it does happen, I seriously doubt it will even be noticed by the population at large, since there are truly very few people on earth that would qualify.

Obviously, based on your explanation of the Rapture, you do not understand the Rapture because it is incorrect what you say here.

THE EVIL DEAD WILL REMAIN IN THE GRAVE UNTIL THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT OF GOD, at the end of the WORLD and after the MILLENIUM PERIOD.

I Thessalonians 4V16:"For the Lord himself shall Descend from Heaven, with a SHOUT, with the voice of the ARCHANGEL, and with the TRUMP of God: and the *DEAD IN CHRIST* shall RISE FIRST:

V17:"Then we which are ALIVE and Remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we EVER be with the LORD."

The order of events at the time of Christ's coming is clearly given:

    (1) the Lord will Descend with a shout, accompanied by the voice of the archangel, and the trump of God (1Cor. 15:52);

(2)the dead in Christ will be resurrected; and

(3)then those remaining will be caught up with them in the clouds.

"Dead in Christ" is a technical expression for believers of the church age.

"Caught up" "snatch"): The Latin word fro carry off is "raptus", from which we get "rapture".

The doctrine of the Rapture of the Church is given its clearest expression in this verse.

Although the word "Rapture" does NOT OCCUR in the English bible (the Latin Bible use the verb here from which "rapture" derives), the idea is expressed in the words "caught up."

The Rapture is the first phase of Christ's return, involving every Christian alive at that time.

These Christians will be caught up to meet Him in the clouds, instantaneously receiving Glorified Bodies.

All those who have died in "Christ" will be Resurrected: those who are "alive and Saved at the time of the Rapture will be caught up with Christ BEFORE the start of the "Seventieth Week of Daniel," that is , the Great Tribulation.

There are many reasons to believe that the Rapture precedes the Tribulation, but fundamentally this view is consistent with a historical-grammatical interpretation of the Scriptures.

  • It's symbolism for a marriage event and God wants a group of people living with Him in heaven for eternity. They will be treated much like a spouse would be.

In the marriage event (which is carried on in some parts of the world today, and in Israel), the groom goes to make a place for his bride then comes again at a later time, when his father decides. The bride must be ready. In the Bible, the rapture happens before the tribulation starts. The quick way to prove this is to read in Revelation about the 24 elders, representing the church observed by John before the tribulation starts. The church is BODILY in heaven, seated around the thrown of God closer than any other being.

If you were a Bible scholar you would know a lot more about this event. I'll recommend a real Bible scholar's podcasts on the subject. Found at: www_TTB_ORG

These scriptures clearly show, not everyone is going to Heaven. So there cannot be such a thing as a (rapture) when all good or righteous people leave earth and go to heaven.

Psalms 37:9 "For evildoers themselves will be cut off,

But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth."

    Psalms 37:10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more;

And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.

11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,

And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

Psalms 37:22  29 The righteous themselves will possess the earth,

And they will reside forever upon it.

Psalms 37:22 For those being blessed by him will themselves possess the earth,

But those upon whom evil is called by him will be cut off.

    *** Bible Citations ***

(Matthew 24:21, 22) for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. 22 In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.

If the chosen ones were gone in a rapture, what difference would it make how long it took? Also, they must still be here during the great tribulation.

    ***

(Revelation 5:10) and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”

So only those ruling with Christ Jesus over the earth is going to heaven.

So what happens to those left on the earth?

As I understand Scripture, the bodies of the dead in Christ will be restored to life at the Rapture (just as Christ was physically resurrected), and the living believers will find their bodies instantly changed into a deathless state. Both will be taken into heaven together.

"There is no purpose for their bodies in heaven." But how can you know this? Jesus Himself has a body that's physically present in heaven. If we're to be raised as He was raised, then we will have bodies in heaven.

Romans 8:11, "And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies..."

Christians will get glorified bodies, our earthly bodies will diminish supernaturally. There's no need to leave our Corpse's on the Earth at that time.

I hope this is not true. I was lookin' forward to digging through the raptured people's clothing and pickin' out all the underwears.

Source(s): But I'm not takin' em off dead peoples. (They evacuate their bowels when they die, y'know.)

The concept of rapture is not believed or taught by the majority of Christian Churches. There are just a few denominations that believe in the rapture.

The "rapture" has already happened according to the texts.

Junior even gives us dates. So do the gospels (and Paul). Xtians that claim that it hasn't already happened are either liars or have not read the bible.

One set of rapture retards will tell you one thing, a second set of retards will tell you something else, and a third set will tell you something else again. There is no reason to believe any of it.

Most of this was invented by amateur theologians in North America between the 1600 and now.
