    The task of rubisco, which is an enzyme found in plant cells, is to capture the carbon dioxide molecules in the air. Rubisco takes the carbon dioxide in the air, adds that to a sugar with five carbon atoms and helps form a new sugar molecule with six carbons, which the plant cell needs.
